Cardinal Health Demand Planner in Vaughan, Canada

Cardinal Health, with over 1300 employees in Canada, is an essential link in the Canadian healthcare supply chain, providing over 70,000 products to healthcare facilities and medical professionals across the country.

We are looking for positive and team-oriented individual to join our dynamic Supply Chain team in Vaughan. The Demand Planner will be responsible for managing demand planning processes and tools with an eye for improvement. The Demand Planner will also play a key role in the future ERP implementation.

This is a hybrid position. You will be required to come on-site 2-days/week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzing demand forecasts in order to identify sales’ trends across all business segments and to proactively represent any statistical forecasting exception

  • Creating and maintaining forecast models, assist in incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, and other sources into that demand plan utilizing their analytic and interpersonal skills

  • Proactively developing, analyzing, and recommending finished goods demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation

  • Identifying areas of forecast risk and improvement opportunities for their assigned demand planning categories

  • Reviewing historical sale trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, evaluate forecast results

  • Developing an easy way to quickly compile and analyze month over month and year over year trends on product groups as required

  • Creating reporting and automated system alerts to proactively identify forecast exceptions

  • Assisting in the creation of best-in-class processes to improve forecast accuracy and bias

  • Engaging and collaborating with Sales teams and customer supply chain teams to ensure better inventory planning, demand Signal Exception Analysis (spikes/ drops), new business materialization and service level analysis

  • Lead seasonal planning across the organization and communicate ideas concisely to a wide variety of stakeholders for purposes ranging from informative to financial approval from management

  • Responsible for maintenance of planning system, parameters, month end updates, analysis for new business materialization, reporting on KPI metrics such as forecast accuracy, bias, etc.

  • Provide support with data analytics, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for performance, inventory concerns or issues

  • Ad-hoc analytics related to performance, inventory management, cost optimization, other supply chain related projects

  • Support planning team on category analysis, forecast alignment, etc.

Key Qualifications

  • Possess a strong understanding of statistical forecasting and inventory optimization techniques. Supply Chain experience is an asset

  • You’ve completed a College/University education (or certification) in Demand Planning or Supply Chain Management, MBA is an asset

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in relevant field (preferred)

  • Understanding the functionalities of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), proficiency in demand planning software's, and exposure in /leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) preferred

  • Certification in APCIS CPIM, CSCP or IBF CPF is a plus

  • You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external customers to drive value-added solutions

  • You possess strong analytical skills and proven ability to analyze data trends with the use of reporting tools (ex. Excel, Access) and initiate action from findings.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and be able to prioritize effectively

  • Ability to contribute to development of policies and procedures as and when required

  • May be required to assist in onboarding new employees and systems
