Cardinal Health Advisor, Strategic Sourcing Global Products in Santa Clara, California

  • Negotiate total cost of contracted products and services, execution of supply agreements, and identification / delivery of Value Improvement Projects (VIPs)
  • Function as the single point of contact in the development of strategies to improve supplier performance and product supply, coordination of new product launches at supplier sites, and ensure quality and customer service objectives are achieved
  • Developing strong business relationships to understand the needs of the Business Unit/Plant and the initiatives within Sourcing to develop effective sourcing strategies
  • Managing supplier partnerships that positively contribute to the quality/efficiency of Supply Chain and R&D
  • Managing supplier capabilities critical to the Business Unit and Plant including, but not limited to, capacity planning, tooling management, change management, project resources/expense management, supply risk mitigation and inventory management
  • Identifying opportunities to upgrade supplier capabilities that are critical through areas such as technology improvement, process improvements, lean, etc.
  • Meeting the goals of Sourcing in the areas of cost, quality, delivery, continuity, and efficiency
  • Participate in industry research and market surveys to stay current with best in class strategic sourcing practices and customer demands
  • Monitor and benchmark existing supply base within the global marketplace

  • Prior experience in managing suppliers, negotiating contracts and working on supplier agreements
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Operations, specifically in a GMP environment
  • Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude, project management skills and prior experience leading cross-functional project teams is required
  • Demonstrated self-starter, assertive and comfortable communicating across functional levels
  • Experience with the commercialization of new products
  • Proactive problem solver

Education : BS Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management required. CPM, CPISM preferred. MBA preferred

Experience

  • 2-3 years of Sourcing/Supplier Management experience required.
  • 3-5 years of Sourcing/Supplier Management /Medical Device experience preferred
  • Training : Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint; JD Edwards or SAP knowledge
