What Ops Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Maintenance is responsible for managing the service life of company assets which is inclusive of physical building and utilities, manufacturing/ warehouse equipment and tooling, office devices and physical layout of facility. Demonstrate a working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, electrical, basic HVAC, instrumentation/controls, AC/DC drives and PLC’s.

Qualifications

  • High School, GED or Technical Certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills required
  • 4+ years experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Good written communication skills
  • Previous mechanical and electrical maintenance experience required

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Responding to any equipment breakage/downtime issues in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoots equipment using necessary tools to identify problems and repairs equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
  • Communicates to the Production Supervisor/Shift Lead and Manager, Manufacturing Engineering the status of the equipment under repair, estimates the downtime to repair and notifies above personnel when equipment is fixed.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technology to meet the changing needs of the manufacturing environment
  • Supporting production/facility operations in overtime and weekend work coverage as needed.
  • Supports plant projects through installations and modifications of current and new equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment as assigned through Mainsaver System by the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Accurate and timely completion of calibrations on plant instrumentation as determined by facility calibration program.
  • Maintains related paperwork as required by established maintenance department and facilities procedures.
  • Proper reporting of maintenance spare parts and maintenance supplies usage.
  • Recommend changes to the preventative maintenance system to incorporate any equipment not covered by the system or maintenance items on equipment that is covered but is not sufficient.
  • Building maintenance and grounds support.
  • May train and provide work direction to other maintenance and/or operator personnel as needed.
  • Participate in training and annual review of applicable procedures.
  • Other duties as specified by the Supervisor.
  • Must be able to perform duties with minimum of supervision and avoid errors that could result in injury to employees or damage equipment or facilities. Self-motivated to complete value added activities in-between trouble calls.
  • Flexible regarding shift and weekend work schedules.
