Cardinal Health IT Process Management Consultant in La Vergne, Tennessee

The IT Process Management Consultant is responsible for supporting deployments for Cardinal Health Pharmaceutical Specialty Solutions 3PL IT. This includes developing, implementing and maintaining standard IT processes and procedures, as well as understanding the application landscape. This position requires strong process focus, logical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide leadership and training to various teams throughout the organization.

Core responsibilities of this position include maintaining documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), coordinating scheduled deployments among varying technical groups, overseeing deployment planning, managing communications related to system changes, ensuring the completeness of each planned deployment request, and providing guidance to others performing unscheduled changes. In addition, the IT Process Management Consultant will ensure the change processes and procedures are being followed, auditing to identify, and reporting any gaps or inconsistencies to IT Management.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of core ITIL framework and the application of methodologies within Change Management
  • Demonstrates excellent listening, communication (verbal and written) and meeting facilitation skills
  • Creates and maintains deployment calendars for both IT and business use, aligning them with Corporate calendars
  • Coordinates scheduled deployments, aggregating multiple changes and completing key documentation
  • Provides help to others doing unplanned changes, to reduce the risk of missing or inaccurate change documentation
  • Develops and maintains procedures and related documentation
  • Designs, analyzes, and provides operational metrics to highlight opportunities to increase efficiency, optimize cost and reduce risk
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements to SOPs and contributes to the development of new SOPs
  • Completes yearly review of all SOPs
  • Creates and delivers training, working instructions, tools and other documentation relative to IT processes
  • Coordinates the IT components of internal and external audits as well as federal and state, as necessary
  • Conducts periodic reviews of system changes and access, as a control function
  • Coordinates periodic review of application checklists, to ensure complete and accurate business, technical and process information is documented
  • Maintains Demand and Resource Management information for 3PL IT Build Team, for financial and scheduling purposes
  • Prepares quarterly IT Client Review presentations with input from other IT teams
  • Completes work independently; receives general guidance on new projects
  • Owns and drives small to medium internal, process-related projects
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
  • Supports management in client audit preparation and meetings

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business/Operations Analysis or a related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 4+ years’ experience in related field required
  • Self-starter with excellent documentation skills
  • Strong collaboration, multi-tasking, time-management and organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Works independently, prioritizing work and proactively communicating status
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft standard desktop applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, respond quickly to emergent problems, and to focus both on long-range projects and immediate tasks
  • ITIL certification or equivalent highly preferred
  • Audit and/or consulting experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Project preferred
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to identify problems, gather facts, analyze potential risks and impacts, and choose or propose a solution
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
