Cardinal Health Manager, Risk, Security and Safety in Dublin, Ohio

The Cardinal Health Global Security and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) vision is to partner with company businesses and functions to proactively mitigate security and EHS risk to company assets.

The Manager, Risk, Security and Safety (Ohio Region) will report to the Ohio Region Security Director and will be responsible for developing and implementing security solutions in support of Cardinal Health assets in the Ohio Region, as well as EHS solutions for facilities at the Dublin, Ohio Global Headquarters. These solutions are designed to manage, mitigate and, whenever possible, eliminate security and EHS risks to Cardinal Health employees, facilities, products and the communities in which the company operates.

Accountabilities

Security support to leaders and employees in facilities throughout the Ohio Region (MI, OH, KY, WV, MD, VA, DC, NC, SC) - 60%

  • Assist the Ohio Region Security Director in providing oversight of security program at all region’s facilities
  • Identify security vulnerabilities of assigned facilities, and take effective corrective action to minimize or eliminate them
  • Produce monthly reports to track activities and program effectiveness, making program adjustments as required
  • Conduct investigations
  • Provide guidance for cost-avoidance/reduction, problem-solving, contract review, due diligence, and facility security design
  • Assist in crisis management and incident response

EHS leader for Dublin, Ohio Global Headquarters facilities - 30%

  • Serve as the single point of contact for Global Headquarters facilities regarding compliance with EHS requirements
  • Analyze key EHS metrics, using data to develop and implement compliance and injury risk mitigation strategy
  • Manage regulatory agency inquiries and reporting obligations related to EHS compliance
  • Participate in EHS assessments and audits
  • Develop and implement the Global Headquarters ergonomics program
  • Lead the investigation, notification and case management for workers’ compensation claims
  • Develop and manage the emergency action plan for each Dublin HQ facility
  • Ensure emergency drills are conducted and evaluated
  • Facilitate the Floor Warden program
  • Manage the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program
  • Ensure critical EHS information is communicated to all Global HQ stakeholders

Training - 10%

  • Educate and train Global Headquarters employees on EHS requirements
  • Provide training to employees in the region to foster a strong security culture and employee engagement, on the following topics as a minimum:

- Security Awareness

- Workplace Violence

- Active Assault / Active Shooter

- Drug-Free Workplace

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience managing security and EHS for multiple operations with healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Proven history as a valued, pragmatic and trusted business partner
  • Must have collaborative leadership skills to achieve desired results in a complex work environment
  • Ability to foster trust, confidence and followership
  • Unquestioned ethical behavior
  • Must be self-directed, and able to work productively and simultaneously on multiple initiatives
  • Must have sound judgment, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and not be afraid of “rolling up the sleeves” to deliver practical solutions
  • Possess strong investigative skills, including interviewing ability
  • Possess the ability to develop strong relationships with law enforcement
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate, market, and sell value-added solutions to all levels of the company and external stakeholders
  • Must be creative in developing cost-effective, sensible solutions that deliver results
  • Strong familiarity, understanding and experience with security and EHS management systems and their successful implementation
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
