What Tax contributes to Cardinal Health

The Cardinal Health Tax Dept. is responsible for the design, implementation and defense of tax strategies and positions. It also records and reports tax expense in accordance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Accountable for the tax due diligence of corporate transactions and preparation of tax compliance returns and reports.

Accountabilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge in broad area of tax principles, planning strategies and concepts, including U.S. federal, U.S. international and local country tax principles. In addition, the Director will have a strong understanding of relevant changes in U.S. tax law as it relates to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (U.S. Tax Reform)
  • Develops and implements tax planning strategies to address impact with respect to both cash and financial statement
  • Lead the analysis of M&A transactions for areas of tax risk and opportunities, as well as optimal tax structuring
  • Demonstrates tax accounting knowledge of GAAP and SEC tax recording and reporting requirements, as it relates to planning and M&A transactions.
  • Performs detailed tax research and analysis.
  • Develops approaches to detect, resolve and properly report issues and transactions on tax returns.
  • Partners with the business to improve tax efficiency of business planning and operations as well as tax compliance and reporting.
  • Effectively lead and collaborate with internal and external tax resources to successfully complete assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and Advanced degree in business related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in related field
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience combined with experience in a corporate tax setting a plus
  • CPA strongly preferred
