What Strategic Pricing contributes to Cardinal Health

Strategic Pricing is responsible for developing, communicating and leading the execution of business strategy and customer profitability through providing analysis, insight, and recommendations toward pricing strategy. This position is within our Market Strategy, Guidance and Analytics Team within Strategic Pricing, supporting the General Medical Products division.

This role is both strategic and technical. You will be challenged to understand a product business strategy, design and perform the supportive data analysis, and extract business intelligence and present insight and recommendations around price strategy. Objective is to ensure the pricing strategy is competitive but also aligned to our financial and product portfolio goals. High exposure and high accountability should be expected.

  • Demonstrate ability, and enthusiasm, in data analysis and financial modeling, apply analytics and data visuals to extract insights and effectively draw applicable recommendations. Creativity is expected.
  • Effectively communicate your thought process while being comfortable when challenged.
  • Proven ability to multi task; managing multiple projects, while responding to ad hoc inquires, and maintaining scheduled deliverables.
  • Collaborate across functions in Product Marketing, Finance, Brand Services and within our larger Strategic Pricing organization.
  • Engage all levels of leadership as a pricing subject matter expert as well as an influencer towards organizational needs and interests.
  • Build partnership and trust with Cardinal Brand Product Managers. Be comfortable and confident as their point of contact providing market pricing intelligence, analytics and recommendations.
  • Energetically contribute towards innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working with a remote team outside of the US.
  • Proven ability to work with little direction, developing projects and self-determining priorities of work and cost benefit analyses.
  • Demonstrates ability to grasp pricing theory and economics, related pricing processes, systems and controls.

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • Data management / manipulation skills – SQL / Data mining / or Advanced Excel required.

Knowledge of Tableau and Alteryx required.

  • ETL experience extracting and cleansing data from multiple platforms and disparate sources
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to display quantitative information in tables, charts, power point presentations and other forms visual enhancements to the data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence and advise all levels of team members.
  • Solution oriented mindset driven by natural curiosity. Collaborative and creative drive.
  • Strong self-discipline for accountability, accuracy, and client service.
  • Project management experience with the ability to influence without authority at an executive level, influencing decision making and leading cross functional projects
  • Confidence and comfort in ambiguity.
  • Self-initiative with strong discipline to deadlines / project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance / economics/ math or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in a FP&A, Pricing or Analytical/Strategic role.
