We are currently looking to recruit a Global Trade Operations Analyst .

The Global Trade Operations team is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of Cardinal Health products and services in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The team actively participates in the setup, operation and monitoring of import/export lanes in the region, interacts with government agencies as needed, provides guidance and support to logistics partners and other departments within the organisation on a variety of trade/customs-related topics, performs regular audits of processes and transactions.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and utilizes depth and breadth of experience to establish trade policies and procedures aligned with regulatory changes, risk and business impact.
  • Monitors applicable country trade regulatory activity and serves as a liaison at both national and local agency levels.
  • Provides ongoing training and support to operations and business unit personnel regarding trade matters.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and strong analytical ability to anticipate and resolve issues while enabling improved decision making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 5+ years experience in customs & trade matters

What is expected of you and others at this level?

  • Demonstrates knowledge of international trade regulatory requirements and utilizes depth and breadth of experience to enable compliant and efficient movement of products and services in and out of the EMEA region.
  • Actively participates in the resolution of issues impacting the smooth flow of shipments through the international supply chain.
  • Partners with business unit, agency and other internal personnel to understand current and anticipated international trade activity and develop effective processes, training and relationships to enable business strategy execution.
  • Manages brokers, forwarders, carriers and other service providers in the region.
  • In depth knowledge of Core Trade Fundamentals such as: Harmonized Tariff Code Assignment, Customs Valuation, Country of Origin Determination and Marking, Free Trade Agreements, Document Creation, Audits, Export Controls, Trade Sanctions and Licensing requirements.
  • Responsible for assessing international trade impact of new products and lanes in assigned business units. This includes multiple country HTS and Export classification, duty rate determination, license applicability, and other information as needed.
  • Drives improved regulatory compliance and business effectiveness through process optimization, automated tool utilization and robust data management.
  • Actively participates in IT testing (as required) and regional or global projects.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight (if required)
