What Product Test and Calibration contributes to Cardinal Health

Product Test & Calibration sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. Assists and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills in assigned area as well as glassware, ovens, and other equipment.

Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and perform unscheduled maintenance, repairs and modifications on manufacturing equipment as needed and document changes as required by operating procedures.
  • Assist in the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and provide instruction to other technical personnel during maintenance or repair.
  • Provide technical assistance as requested and arrange for technical support if necessary to complete repairs.
  • Provide support for projects, production improvements and other authorized groups as assigned bysupervisor/superintendent.
  • Electrical/Electronictroubleshooting abilities, with a working knowledge of electrical controls, motors and feedback components Assist in the training of Set-ups and Maintenance Technicians on departmental procedures, production equipment and safety. Assist departmental personnel in monitoring the performance of equipment and personnel.
  • Assist in ensuring product quality and quantity goals of assigned areas.
  • Promote production and scrap reduction through timely response to equipment failures and innovation in documented design changes.
  • Analyze product defects utilizing calipers, micrometers or gages and initiate corrective action with supervisor, Quality Assurance, and/or department manager.
  • Responsible for maintenance operations in the absence of themaintenance/manufacturingsupervisor.
  • Analyze existing conditions related to the problem presented and initiates needed changes to achieve increased production and/or eliminate product defects and waste.
  • Ability to perform minor ‘redesigns’ on exiting machine component(s) to improve performance. This may include, but is not limited to, fabricating tooling, modifying, or adding components.
  • Ability to perform work in assigned skill set (Welding, Metal Lathes, Milling Machines, Lube Mixing Grinders, Sanders, etc.) Computer knowledge in MS Word and Excel.
  • Must write Engineering Change Request (ECR) forms and initiate Change Control process as needed. Inventory management. CTQ/Training- Crimp certification and testing.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 4-5 years medical device manufacturing related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Good written communication skills
