Senior Analyst, Internal Audit – Finance

What Internal Audit - Finance contributes to Cardinal Health

Internal Audit - Finance is responsible for conducting financial and operational audits to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and laws. Evaluates and recommends improvements to business practices, processes and control procedures. Responsible for the overall execution of internal audit assurance and consulting activities.

  • Applies knowledge of auditing, accounting and internal control concepts to evaluate financial and operational business activities.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of process flows, process documentation and internal control identification.

  • Leverages project management skills to define audit testing plans, execute and document internal controls testing, and document testing results and related audit findings.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to interact with others in a constructive manner that builds trust.

  • Clearly and accurately documents business processes and related audit findings.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the execution of audits of financial and operational processes

  • Evaluates financial and operational risk to the organization and performs tests of controls to assess the adequacy of the control environment; identifies control weaknesses and recommends improvements

  • Works proactively with internal customers to ensure audit recommendations are implemented timely

  • Drafts audit reports and prepares documentation to support audit activities; incorporates feedback provided by audit department management

  • Tracks project activities and provides status updates on audit initiatives

  • Collaborates effectively with internal audit team members, business leaders and stakeholders, and controls and compliance teams

  • Contributes to internal audit department initiatives including management of audit technologies, methodology, data analytics, training, and continuous improvement programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • 2+ years experience a related field (including but not limited to audit, finance, accounting, data analytics, or business operations) preferred
